This is a Tour de France Manager game where you are the Directeur Sportif of a Tour de France team. You have $50 000 000 with which to purchase 9 riders, no more than two coming from the same trade team. Money not spent on riders remain in your bank account to be included in the calculation of your total worth, and may be used to purchase future riders.
All rider’s worth changes according to their performances in the tour. Riders can earn money for themselves as well as for your team. When a rider earns money for himself, his worth increases. When the rider earns money for the team, that money is added to your bank account.
The game starts on July 3rd, at 15h and ends on July 25th after the end of the last stage. There are 21 rounds in the game (one for each day’s racing)
In addition to the 9 riders on the team, you can choose one as a team captain. However much the rider selected as team captain earns during a round, an equivalent amount is added to your bank account. The team captain may be changed after each round. Choosing a team captain is free of charge.
Before each round, you may sell and buy riders. When you sell a rider, you receive his worth in your bank account. When you buy a rider, his worth is deducted from your bank account. In addition, a 1% finance fee is charged for each player bought. You receive one free purchase per round where the 1% fee is waived. This free purchase may not be carried forward to the next round should you not use it. You will always have one free trade per round regardless of whether you used your free trade during the last round. All transactions are free until the start of the first round (15h WET July 3rd) If you buy more than one rider during a round, the most expensive rider purchased will receive the fee-free transaction.
You may sell and buy riders up until 10 minutes before the start of the day’s stage, at which point the game is locked for transactions until after the stage and stage results are calculated. Results of the day are usually displayed 2 or 3 hours after the stage ends, and the game iwill be unlocked for new transactions around 22h WET.
You are allowed to see you opponents team up until 2 hours before the game is locked for the day’s stage.
